Rental Terms
Minimum Driver Age: 21 years. This requirement exists because insurance companies do not cover younger drivers for rental vehicles.
Insurance Coverage
C.D.W. (Collision Damage Waiver) and F.D.W. (Full Damage Waiver) are valid only when the customer signs the designated box on the reverse side of the rental agreement.
F.D.W.: The customer is fully exempt from liability for damages caused to the vehicle due to an accident, unless traffic laws or clause 2 of this agreement are violated. In such cases, the customer is responsible for a fee of €100.
C.D.W.: The customer will be charged the deductible amount (as indicated in the agreement) for any damage caused to the vehicle, including damages in parking areas or during the customer's absence. Full damage costs apply if clause 2 is violated, with a fee of €400.
Vehicle Usage Restrictions
Insurance coverage is void if:
- The driver or passengers are under the influence of alcohol or drugs
- The vehicle is driven by someone not listed in the agreement
- The vehicle is used for:
- Towing other vehicles or trailers
- Racing
- Transporting heavy luggage, flammable materials, animals, or illegal substances
- Driving on beaches or into the sea
- Intentional or negligent damage (e.g., cigarette burns, interior breakage)
- Carrying more passengers than allowed
- Driving on poor road conditions
- Use by unauthorized persons
- Use by individuals without a valid license or under 21 years of age
In Case of Accident or Incident
The customer must:
- Call the police
- Record names, addresses, and details of involved parties or witnesses
- Notify the rental office immediately
- Complete and sign an accident report within 24 hours if requested
- Provide any documents or information related to the incident, including a copy of the driver’s license
Maintenance and Repairs
Damages due to negligence will be repaired by the rental office at the customer's expense. Repairs over €3.00 require prior approval and must be accompanied by a detailed paid invoice.
Insurance Limitations
Insurance does not cover tires or the underside of the vehicle. Driving on poor road conditions is prohibited. The renter is liable for all damages and must report any accident within 24 hours. Failure to do so voids insurance coverage.
Return Policy
The vehicle must be returned at the end of the rental period. Otherwise, the rental office is authorized to retrieve the vehicle at the renter’s expense. Extensions must be approved 24 hours before the rental ends. The deposit cannot be used to extend the rental.
Liability
From the moment of signing until the vehicle is returned, the renter is considered the owner and is responsible for fines, violations, and legal actions. Tampering with official markings is strictly prohibited. Abandoning the vehicle will result in charges for recovery and repatriation.
Rental Duration
Must be respected by both the renter and the rental company.
Jurisdiction
Any disputes arising from this agreement will be resolved by the Greek courts, specifically those of Rhodes. A copy of this agreement is provided to the renter upon signing.
Additional Notes
- Please keep the key in a safe place.
- After notification, the rental company disclaims any further responsibility.
